Canon has unveiled the latest additions to its Legria camcorder lineup with the entry level Canon HF R48, HF R46 and HF R406 as well as the higher-end ‘prosumer’ Canon Legria HF G25.
Starting with the HF R range, they all feature optical image stabilisation as well as 32x optical zoom lenses as well as a new ‘Baby mode’ which is another name for the increasingly common pre-record function whereby the camera records the few seconds before you actually press the record button – apparently perfect for capturing your baby’s first steps.
All three also have Full HD CMOS sensors, 7.5cm touchscreens and record in AVCHD. What distinguishes them are the inclusion of Wi-Fi and the amount of storage they offer. The Canon Legria HF R48 includes 32GB of built in storage and has Wi-Fi built in, the HF R46 has Wi-Fi but only 8GB built in while the R406 doesn’t have Wi-FI and has no internal storage, with an SDXC slot instead to add your own storage.
