Just in case you’ve been living under a rock today, the Amazon Prime Day sale is in full swing and so are a ton of tempting deals, but there’s one that deserves more attention than most.
Let’s face it, the Sonos Ace could not have launched at a worse time. Coming hot off the heels of the Sonos App redesign which caused a major backlash, the Sonos Ace didn’t quite live up to the standards that the company had set with previous products, and it unfortunately got lumped in with much of the furore of the moment. However, I think they’re worth a revisit, especially this Prime Day.
At their original price of £449, Sonos’ first pair of headphones were a tricky one to recommend, but now that the Sonos Ace are available for just £269 on Amazon, I’d argue that they’re bargain buy for music and film fans alike.
Our US readers can get a $150 price cut, from $449 to $199 the sale period.

At £269, the Sonos Ace are a steal for movie fans
The Sonos Ace are seriously underrated, despite the fact that they boast excellent audio quality and ANC, plus they wirelessly connect to your Sonos soundbar.
I had the pleasure of using a pair of Sonos Ace headphones for a few months earlier this year, wanting to get a better understand of what they were all about. To my surprise, the Sonos Ace really came through with excellent sound and one particular feature that I think puts it a step above the competition.
Starting with the sound quality, I will admit that the Sonos Ace doesn’t quite match the clarity and power of the Sony WH-1000XM6, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an enjoyable sound here. As you crank up the volume, the Ace don’t seem to get louder per se, but rather they deepen the sound so it feels as if you’re sinking into the track at hand. It’s a tricky sensation to detail, but I really enjoyed the experience of it.
Active noise cancelling is also fantastic. There were plenty of moments when I was cooking away in the kitchen and I hadn’t realised that my wife had come home until she tapped me on the shoulder and scared the living daylights out of me. While I no longer recommend using ANC at home, it does show just how powerful the tech is here.
All of that is great but what really set the Sonos Ace apart for me is the TV Swap feature that lets them connect to a Sonos soundbar. This allows the sound to transfer from the soundbar to the headphones, so you can watch TV and play games without causing a racket – handy for when everyone else has gone to bed.
As a final note, the Sonos Ace also boast a slim profile so, unlike a lot of headphones nowadays, they don’t jut out too much, and they never felt too heavy on my head after long periods of use.
For just £269, the Sonos Ace are well worth a look, particularly if you already have a Sonos soundbar in tow as the TV Swap feature alone makes the experience.
