Legendary audio guru Ken Ishiwata has been at Marantz for 40 years and to help Ken celebrate his ruby anniversary, the company is launching a very special range – the Marantz KI Ruby.
In recognition of Ken’s four decades at Marantz, he has led a team of highly experienced engineers to develop the PM-KI Ruby integrated amplifier and the SA-KI Ruby Super Audio CD player with USB-DAC.

The two products have been sound tuned by Ken, bear the Marantz KI Ruby motif and have the ‘Ken Ishiwata’ signature laser-engraved onto their respective chassis.
Ken has sound tuned them both, with the PM-KI integrated amplifier using an improved power supply, upgraded components, selected components for the power supply, and a simplified power supply for the phono amplifier. The SA-KI Super Audio CD player with USB-DAC has upgraded components for its analogue circuits, and a simplified power supply line.

The PM-KI is an integrated pre-amplifier and power amplifier that can deliver 2 x 200W into 8 ohms and 2 x 200W into 4 ohms. There are seven inputs, and a separate headphone amplifier circuit. There’s also the Marantz Musical Premium Phono EQ, the shortest possible signal path from amplifier output to speaker terminal, gold-plated contacts, and a copper-plated chassis with a 5mm aluminium top cover.
The SA-KI uses an original Marantz CD/SACD disc drive with Marantz Musical Mastering 32bit/384kHz digital to analogue conversion. There’s a USB-A input for USB drives and smartphones, a USB-B inout for connecting a PC or Mac, and optical and coaxial inputs for PCM sources. There’s also a fully discrete current feedback circuit with new and improved Marantz HDAM-SA technology, along with digital isolation circuitry, and a copper-plated chassis with a 5mm aluminium top cover.

The PM-KI integrated amplifier will be available in September at a price of £3500.00 and a choice of black or gold.
